Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first attempt she made, she was ranked second in 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she attended at the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs. The youngest participant in the 200-meter race in the world championships in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title once again in 2007, by beating the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently at the top of the podium throughout her races during the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
